Try always to uphold a teacher’s decision; never openly disagree with it in front your child. If, in fact, you cannot see the justice of it, and feel seriously concerned, take the matter up with the teacher privately.

If possible, enroll your child in the local playgroup. Playgroups are voluntary organizations, usually run by a mother’s co-operative. They provide the opportunity for pre-school children to meet, play with toys, paint, hear stories and make music. They teach children something more important than the facts they will learn when they begin school-how to share books and equipment and how to cope for a few hours each day on their own without mother looking on. Playgroups usually cater for children from the age of three. A small charge is made for each daily session.

In this world, our kids will be taught their main language or their ‘mother’ language, first. But, if we look at the other side, the main language is the language that is often used by people or it has been established as an international language, and that’s English. For our kids, we can give manual English teaching or ‘fast’ teaching. We can teach them by ourselves but we can send them to the English course to learn that language.  But, to get the best result of being proficient English speaker, the English course more varied and give them many experiences that they will not get from outside. Beside that, when they learn language in courses, they can get many new friends and can practice their vocabulary –English— with making conversation, of course, in English. With doing that, as long as they can practice, they can speak English fluently, and that’s the benefit from courses. But, the consideration is back to their parents or themselves. A loving, gentle form of discipline starts in the first year and to small children is a solid foundation of which to base their behaviour-the beginnings of acceptance of the world in which they have to live. Parents can help a young mind to expand and explore by selecting carefully the activities they enjoy with their children, and the toys they buy for them. By three or four, most children like wooden beads on wire to push along and count, and bright plastic letters and numbers to experiment with.  Plenty of paper and pencils or paints encourage the child to use his imagination. In this way, by the time he is ready for school he has some familiarity with numbers and letters for early childhood education.

Never try to  force a young child to learn, and above all never encourage him to “write” and copy capital letters. Remember, apart from the capital letters used to begin names, always to use lower case. Your methods may be quite different from the ones he will encounter at school and will only confuse him.
